Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.Monie was born on Aug. 7, 1936 in Sullivan County to James Albert Smith and Ruth (Hubble) Smith. He retired from R.C.A. as a retired lineman.Monie was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, William T. Smith and one sister, Judy Smith Gennicks.Survivors include one brother, James Joe Smith (Linda) of Dugger and several nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be at Fairview Cemetery on Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. There will be military rite by the Dugger American Legion post 224 and Linton American Legion post 22. Arrangements were entrusted to Newkirk’s Funeral Home.

Mercy Medical Center in Canton.Born Aug. 17,1970, in Union Hospital, she was a daughter to Floyd Delmus and Marlene Kay (Shellenbarger) Ward.Shari initially worked as an administrative assistant at Prudential LI in New York and continued with administrative assisting at Community Mental Health when she moved back with family in Carrollton. But Shari’s real love came when she found a love for the Lord and made it her life career to serve the Him by loving, caring and helping her daughter, Kaitlyn, sister, nieces and nephew. Shari also had a love for animals and would frequently be seen loving her sister’s little dog, “The Minnie”. Shari loved the Lord and her family. She attended Harvest Christian Center in Minerva until her health issues kept her from attending.Shari is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn Ward of Carrollton; her sister and best friend, Traci Cody of Carrollton; three stepsisters, JoAnn Papen of Idaho, Christina (Neil) Diamond and Vicki Papen, both of North Carolina; stepfather, Howard Papen of Carrollton; maternal aunt, Bridget Cross of Carrollton; paternal aunts, Glenda (Jerry) Foster, of Fresno, and Betty Ward-Whiteman of Virginia; paternal uncle, Merle Jr. (Linda) Ward of Dover; and many cousins, nieces, a nephew and loved family and friends.She was preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Kay (Shellenbarger) Papen; father, Floyd D. Ward; an infant daughter, Brittany; maternal grandparents, Homer and Mary Flanigan; paternal grandparents, Merle and Rebecca Ward; maternal uncles, Gary Shellenbarger and Lee Cross; and paternal uncles, Rodney Ward and Larry Ward.A celebration of Shari’s life and home going will be Saturday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mechanicstown Cemetery.Calling hours are 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. prior to funeral services.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shari’s daughter.
